We had our very first Engineering Saturday program last month, and it was a flying success! Students from the UT chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) came to the Museum and helped kids and families design paper airplanes.
We learned that different designs lead to differences in performance. We had planes dive-bombing, loop-the-looping, and soaring through the air. We even had one plane fly from the second-floor balcony all the way out the front door!
The Austin Children’s Museum and UT’s College of Engineering will be presenting more Engineering Saturdays programs throughout the year. Check out the calendar on our website www.austinkids.org to find out more!
