In December, we learned about the annual Christmas Bird Count. This winter, one of the Museum’s staff members went on a bird watching trip to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in Socorro, New Mexico. Every autumn, tens of thousands of birds migrate south to Socorro to spend the winter in warmer weather. The Wildlife Refuge tracks the types and quantities of birds that visit them every year.
